Hold on to GOD and NEVER let go.
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness" (Corinthian 4:6)
Have you ever found yourself facing hard times and sinking into an abyss of darkness without any hope of being rescued? Have you experienced loneliness and despair while battling internal or external demons?
If you answered yes to the questions above, you understand how physically and mentally agonizing these moments can be. During these hard times, hope no longer exists, while desperation is in full operation. When encountering dark times, a person feels an immense sense of helplessness. Some have thoughts of death or suicide. The sensation is so extensive that the person becomes overwhelmed, sinking deeper and deeper into the obscure waters of anguish.
As the darkness intensifies, the self begins to disintegrate. Self-pity, low self-esteem, depression, and loneliness become the person’s new companions. Questions such as "Why is this happening to me?" and "What have I done?" begin to infiltrate the mind. Although the questions continue to mount, the solutions remain out of reach. There is no exit in sight.
Upon our arrival to the earthly plane, we encounter various tests designed to help purify our souls. It's crucial to accept, learn from, and let go of each test. When faced with a test, many of us remain stuck in darkness, unable to see any alternative due to our fears, which immobilize and imprison us in the situation.
Remember, the challenges that lead to difficult times are only temporary. We must learn to overcome all negative situations and reclaim all that has been overshadowed by darkness. We should not accept a life of darkness; instead, we should learn from it and step into the light.
J was sixteen years old when she was raped by a stranger. Immediately, after the rape, she began to submerge into an abyss of darkness. Emotions, such as hate, anger, fear and loneliness, which were once foreign to her, dominated her thoughts and actions. She isolated herself from everything that had once been meaningful to her and refused to attend school or counseling.
Weeks went by, and her condition did not improve. Concerned for her daughter's well-being, her mother decided to take action. The family's pastor was called upon to help. Initially, she refused to speak to him, but after much persuasion, she agreed to see him. After several conversations, J conceded to visit a therapist who specialized in sexual abused cases. After a while, she returned to school and started interacting with her friends again. Even though she has never forgotten the incident, she has managed to overcome her fears and move forward. She stepped away from the darkness and embraced the light. She believes that God showed her the path to finding the healing she needed.
Presently, she is a social worker who assist others to let go of the strong grip of darkness and enter the light.
Whenever you are facing times of physical or spiritual darkness, remember the following:
"And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." (Genesis 1:3)
Believe in God, for He is the Master of all.
Hold on to GOD during hard times and never let go. God will be your salvation.
Those who seek God will find God.
Maintain your faith in God and believe in His love for all human beings. Trust that He will lift you up when you fall and guide you through dark times. Believe, trust, and have faith.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Holy Father, I pray that you strengthen me in this dark moment in the name of Jesus.
Heavenly Father, I ask you for mercy in any area that I have taken my focus off you and placed it on this situation in the name of Jesus.
Glorious Father, I pray for the right attitude through this dark moment in the name of Jesus.
Holy Father, help me to become better after this moment in the name of Lord Jesus Christ.
